Creating value in woodland products and services
Goods from the Woods is a project run by Llais y Goedwig, and is open to community woodland group ( CWGs), woodland owners and anyone providing sustainable woodland goods and or services in Wales.
A key feature of CWGs is that they each emerge from and respond to their own unique set of localised environmental, social and economic circumstances.
In response to the economic climate we have found that CWGs and small woodland owners are increasingly producing and selling ‘Goods from the Woods’, e.g.– timber for construction, shelters and buildings, firewood, charcoal, coppice products, willow for basketry, wild foods and services such as foraging walks, forest schools, fungi forays, weddings and other recreational activities.
The Goods From the Woods project has funding from the Rural Development Plan for Wales to develop and pilot an online marketing platform for products and services from Wales’ Woodlands.
If you are a Community Woodland group or small woodland owner or someone who can offer woodland products or services (or know someone who is!) and would be interested in support to market and sell your products and services, or would simply like to be kept informed on the progress of the project, contact gftw@llaisygoedwig.org.uk to ask questions and be added to the project list.
