TK 02: Woodland Health Survey
Woodlands are special places and important for people, plants and wildlife. Unfortunately, however, they are facing a number of threats including climate change, development, pollution and attack from tree diseases. As a result, many woodlands are in poor condition and 1 in 6 woodland flowers is threatened with extinction. Ancient woodlands, home to many vulnerable and threatened species, are now rare and cover just 2.4% of the UK.
If we are to restore and protect these precious habitats we need tools to help us. The Woodland Health Survey is designed to help those who manage or look after woodlands.
