National Plant Monitoring Scheme- request for surveyors in Wales

Posted on May 8, 2015 by

The National Plant Monitoring Scheme (NPMS) is looking for volunteer surveyors in Wales, to help monitor changes in plant abundance and diversity. For individuals and groups interested, training and advice is available to get you started.

NPMS is a new habitat-based plant monitoring scheme designed by the Botanical Society of the British Isles, Centre for Ecology & Hydrology, Plantlife and Joint Nature Conservancy Committee.

The aim of the scheme is to collect data to provide an annual indication of changes in plant abundance and diversity.

The scheme is reliant on volunteers to gather the data in pre-determined 1km squares which you can sign up for and training material and advice is available once you sign up.

So if you would like to adopt a square and contribute, sign up so that a good coverage can be achieved, with the best data possible for Wales.

For further details and to register visit the NPMS website
