David Williams of Blaen Bran Community Woodland in Torfaen
David got involved with his local community woodland when an offer was made by the previous owner to purchase the long term lease if enough local interest could be shown – the full story being in the Blaen Bran Community Woodland case study (elsewhere on the Llais y Goedwig website). He is a local community councillor (with Cwmbran Community Council) and works in Social Care and Housing with Torfaen County Borough Council. Interests include local history, sustainability, welsh rugby, real ale and nature conservation.  He is a member of the Ancient Cwmbran society, Friends of the Earth, Cynnal Cymru and the ATA – as well as having recently joined the Sealed Knot to take part in English Civil War battle re-enactment.

Adam Thorogood of Coetiroedd Dyfi Woodlands in Machynlleth
Adam is a co-founder of Coetiroedd Dyfi Woodlands, a social enterprise working in the Dyfi Valley to deliver volunteering and educational projects in woodlands. He is currently involved with other local people in setting up a community woodland at Ty Gwyn, a Forestry Commission woodland close to Machynlleth. He became involved in Llais y Goedwig through studying Forestry at Bangor University when he volunteered to help produce the Climate Change Reader, a digital resource of climate change literature relating to woodlands. He likes playing the guitar, second hand bookshops and being busy.
