Climate change

We are developing this section of the website into a resource for information and views on the response that community woodlands should make to climate change. As managers of woodland we need to be aware of:

- the possible impact of climate change on woodland processes and species – the response to this is to increase the resilience of our woods to change

- the contribution that carbon capture in trees and woodland can make to reducing or mitigating climate change

- the contribution that the local use of woodland resources can make to reducing our communities carbon footprint i.e. facilitating the transition to sustainable, zero carbon living

We welcome your views on these topics and over the next year are looking to prepare a Llais y Goedwig position on these issues as a source of considered advice for Welsh community groups who are perhaps struggling to reconcile the piles of sometimes conflicting material on these topics.
