10th Feb Small Hydro Event Forestry Commission Wales are holding an event promoting the launch of an initiative to encourage small hydro schemes on the Welsh Woodland Estate in the Lecture Theatre at Plas Tan y Bwlch, the Snowdonia National Park Study Centre, Maentwrog on Tuesday 21st February, from 10.30-13.00. Wednesday February 15th 2012 Introduction to Management Planning in the Countryside
NATUR will be holding this one-day event at Margam Park Discovery Centre, Port Talbot
with Mike Alexander. This workshop will be suitable for anyone who works in or would like to work in the countryside or nature conservation. It will be presented at a level which is appropriate for experienced managers who feel that they need a refresher, and for people at the beginning of their careers.

A range of events has been planned, with a conference at Greenmeadow Community Farm on 10th October taking centre stage. There will also be a sustainability exhibition with a wide range of exhibitors.
Other key events taking place throughout the week include a special business breakfast, an Energy Management Workshop with the Carbon Trust, a Renewable Energy Drop-In Day, nature walks and much, much more.

They are based near Lampeter, and have some accomodation available.
The Big Skill is a rural craft festival to be held in Penbront, Brecon on the 3rd and 4th of September. Tickets are £7 for the day or £10 for the weekend and can be bought from www.thebigskill.com where there are also more details about the event.
