LlyG Spring Skill Share; Cleft Fencing 14th April

Posted on March 23, 2018 by

Join host group Bryngarw Park Volunteer Group as they learn how to produce cleft fencing from chestnut felled on site.

This day long activity will show you how to use a brake, draw knife, and shave horse to create timber fencing in a traditional way.  Participants will learn how to split the grain effectively as part of the cleaving process then shape the timber to make up the fencing.

The group will meet  at Cedars Tea Rooms at 10am, the skill share  will finish around 3.30pm (longer if there is lots of enthusiasm!)

Hearty soup, crusty bread and cake is included to keep everyone motivated !

To book on this event please follow the link to the Eventbrite booking form.  Confirmation will be sent once you have confirmed booking.

Llais y Goedwig can provide a small number of travel bursaries to members who would like to attend.  These are on a first come first serve basis via the network coordinator.  Contact info@llaisygoedwig.org.uk for details.
