The story so far…
The idea of a body to represent and support community woodlands has been discussed several times over the last few years. In March 2008 woodland networking conference at CAT resolved to form a Community Woodland Forum for Wales, supported by Coed Lleol. A Working Group was set up in order to develop the structure, governance and activities of the forum, highlighting priorities and any potential problems.
The Working Group met several times over the next seven months and on the 3rd November 2008, a constitution signed by a founding Board representing five community woodland groups (Roger Davies, Jenny Wong, Dave Petty, Fay Sharply and Philip Swain) to establish Llais y Goedwig as an Unicorported Association.
